Bwlchgwynt Solar Farm: fully commissioned

The UK’s electricity grid is under increasing pressure, with capacity constraints leading to some renewable projects being offered connection dates as late as 2030. Yet, the need to accelerate progress toward net zero targets is more urgent than ever.

Ynni Teg’s Bwlchgwynt solar farm is a great example of successfully avoiding years of waiting, bringing a 576kWp solar installation online—without needing a full grid connection upgrade and generating enough clean electricity to power around 500 homes.

This £1 million solar farm utilises spare grid capacity from our existing wind turbine at the site.

Earlier this year, the site sustained storm damage, but following a successful repair programme, we’re pleased to announce that the solar farm is now fully commissioned and generating clean energy.
