Meet the team: Carys

Meet Carys, Administration Officer

What’s your role at YnNi Teg?

As Welsh Language Administration Officer, I provide administrative support to the Executive Director, the Board, and staff of Ynni Teg.    I’m responsible for implementing Ynni Teg’s Welsh Language policy, and for ensuring compliance with Ynni Teg’s policies and regulations.

I’m also involved with Ynni Teg’s Community Benefit funding and help administer the grants once they have been approved by the Board

Tell us a bit about you

I worked for many years in television production, at HTV, BBC and as a freelancer for a number of Independent production companies.    Having worked with actors, presenters, musicians, puppets, and even a remote-controlled animated tractor at one stage, I fancied a change of direction and took some time out to work out my priorities.

I’ve always been interested in environmental matters, and Community Energy is such a force for good : for Wales, and for the future of our planet, and I’m delighted to be doing my little bit to help with this important work.

And When You Aren’t at Work?

We’ve recently celebrated 1 year since Willa the whippet came to live with us, so you’ll mostly find me out and about with her and the rest of the family.    I love catching up with friends over a meal or coffee,  and going to the theatre, cinema and concerts.
